Sundays are sacred for most Mexican families, but did you know that the third Sunday in June is untouchable? Do you wonder why? It is the perfect excuse to remember how important our fathers have been in our upbringing and to show them the love, respect and admiration we have for them.

Father's Day has its origins in the United States in 1909. Sonora Smart Dodd decided to pay tribute to her father, who was a war veteran who lost his wife, thus becoming the pillar of a family of five children.

Her father was born on June 19 and therefore proposed this date for a celebration dedicated to fathers; but it was not until 1924 that it acquired a national character.

Later, President Lyndon Johnson ended up officially establishing Father's Day as the third Sunday in June.

This celebration exists in almost the entire world, although there are some differences between the dates on which it is commemorated in different countries… the fact is that the holiday is celebrated on Sunday and this is a feature that has not changed with modernity, considering that a father of a family works all week, is the breadwinner of most families, is the image of discipline for sons, is the protection of daughters, is the loving husband, etc.

For all this and much more… Let's celebrate all those great men!
